*CUT TO THE CHASE*NOTE: This spoiler was submitted by Jeremy
November 19th, 2006, Ramadi, Iraq – The opening text states that Navy SEAL team Alpha One is on the lookout in the area for a team of snipers. Alpha One is shown at their base watching a music video and jamming out to the song. Among them are communications officer Ray Mendoza (D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai), Officer in Charge Erik (Will Poulter), lead sniper Elliot Miller (Cosmo Jarvis), gunner Tommy (Kit Connor), leading Petty Officer Sam (Joseph Quinn), and Lieutenant McDonald (Michael Gandolfini).
Later, the team goes into the streets and enters a house, forcing the occupying family into another room. In the morning, Alpha One’s own snipers keep an eye out from the windows in the upper apartment, breaking through a wall to get inside. Ray communicates with air support over their location, while Elliot monitors a market across the street. The men soon start to notice increased activity and less air support. Translators Farid and Noor (Nathan Altai and Donya Hussen) tell the men that the occupying family has alerted them to a jihad coming their way, so Erik has them assigned to guard specific parts of the building. Sniper Frank (Taylor John Smith) observes men entering the building across the street with weapons.
Soon, a grenade is tossed through the sniper hole. Elliot’s hand is injured, prompting the men to call a CASEVAC to get him out of there. Gunfire begins to break out, leading Alpha One to return fire. Erik leads the others are they prepare for the Bradley tank to arrive by gathering weapons and blowing Claymore mines.
As the team tries to board the Bradley, an IED goes off, causing grievous injuries to Elliot and Sam’s legs, while another man gets blown in half. Sam is dragged back inside the house screaming in agony while his legs look like Swiss cheese, with Ray tending to him and trying to prevent others from touching Sam. He tries to apply a tourniquet to Sam’s legs but is too distressed to concentrate and do it, leading Erik to do the job. The team tries to get Alpha Two to come in with reinforcements. They get air support back but McDonald has them utilize a show of force due to opposing fire. Elliot regains consciousness and starts to feel pain as well. McDonald applies morphine to Elliot and Sam.
Alpha Two arrives, led by Jake (Charles Melton). He takes over leadership duties as he sees Erik is worn out. With the threat of another IED attack, the teams are denied medical evacuation. Jake has his communications officer, John (Finn Bennett), impersonate a commanding officer to approve the evacuation.
The gunmen on the roofs are taking heavy fire from the insurgents. Bradleys arrive for the evacuation. Elliot and Sam are hauled into the tanks and taken out of there. Back inside the house, Jake orders other Bradleys to take out the top deck of the house for fear that insurgents made it inside. The Bradleys comply and take out the top floors, while the team goes out into the streets, covering each other before finally getting in and evacuating.
Once the dust has settled, the families come out of their rooms now that the soldiers have gone. The surviving insurgents come out into the streets to survey the damage.
Before the credits roll, the real SEALs portrayed in the film, particularly Ray Mendoza (who co-directed the film with Alex Garland) and Elliot Miller, are seen in the production process of the film, alongside real pictures of other teammates.
