A NICE GIRL LIKE YOU*CUT TO THE CHASE*

The film starts with Lucy Neal (Lucy Hale) practicing dirty talk in the bathroom. She cannot bring herself to say the word “cock” out loud and isn’t comfortable using it in a sentence, so she starts shouting the word until it sounds more natural to her, only for an older woman to come in and awkwardly look at Lucy.
One month earlier, we see Lucy with her boyfriend Jeff (Stephen Friedrich) as they are having sex, but she doesn’t seem to be into it, and disappoints Jeff with her lack of talking dirty or overall knowledge of intimacy. While he is asleep, Lucy looks at Jeff’s laptop and finds that he is a porn addict who is subscribed to a bunch of sites, and he wishes Lucy would talk or act like the women in these videos. They have an argument over this and they break up, with Jeff moving out of the apartment.
Lucy joins her violin quartet – Nessa (Jackie Cruz), Priscilla (Mindy Cohn), and Paul (Adhir Gulyan) – at a wedding, but she breaks down in the middle of things and tells them that Jeff left her because she won’t satisfy him the way he wants. After some comforting and encouragement from the three, Lucy decides to make a sex list of things to improve her intimacy problems, with the following goals listed in order:
1. Watch 25 porn films
2. Go to a sex store
3. Read “cliterature” (sex novels)
4. Visit strip club
5. Sex toy party
6. Attend a sex seminar
7. Test vibrators
8. Watch internet porn
9. Consult a sex therapist
10. Visit a brothel
11. Meet a porn star
12. Use “hot throbbing cock” convincingly in a sentence
She attempts #12 as seen earlier but stops herself after the old woman comes in. Lucy is also overheard by a wedding guest, Grant (Leonidas Gulaptis), as she starts to drunkenly yell by herself in frustration. He comes in to comfort her and helps her get back outside after some friendly chatting.
Lucy starts off by watching a lot of porn at home and also reads a very racy novel that she finds herself surprised to be aroused by. The next morning, Nessa and Priscilla come over to help Lucy get over Jeff, but she instead invites them to go to a sex store. They look at some vibrators, and Lucy rubs what she thinks is lip balm for oral sex on her lips just as Grant strolls in. They chat some more and Lucy finds herself attracted to the man. Another man comes by and asks for their help in buying something since he thinks they work there, and Lucy tries to recommend the oral sex balm, only to discover that it is, in fact, erection cream, and that’s why her lips are swelling. Grant helps her to bring it down, and Lucy leaves with her friends and a blow-up doll.
Later that night, Lucy joins Paul at a strip club he visits regularly. She finds herself impressed by the dancing onstage, but when she sees that all she has is a $20 bill for a tip, Lucy awkwardly tries to take “change” from the dancer, which gets her and Paul kicked out.
Lucy and her friends attend a sex toy party where Lucy brings home, among other things, Ben Wa balls that she later uses on herself. She attends an event that evening where the quartet is performing, but since she is still walking around with the Ben Wa balls, she starts to feel the need to excuse herself. To make things more awkward, Grant is there and asks Lucy to dance. She agrees, at which point some of the balls start to fall out onto the floor. Grant asks her out to dinner, at which point she releases the last one and pleasurably yells out an acceptance, just as the last ball flies across the room.
Thinking she may end up getting physical with Grant, Lucy asks Jeff how she was in bed. He answers that it wasn’t great. She then goes with her friends to a sex seminar, which leaves them feeling empowered.
Lucy goes on her dinner date with Grant, and they later attend a live taping for talk show host Dr. Becker (Skye P. Marshall) since Priscilla gave Lucy tickets. Dr. Becker’s guest is sex expert Madame Swarovska (Nadia Quinn), who brings Lucy up to speak with her. She senses the lack of sexual experience in her and basically encourages Grant to show her a good time.
In between her newfound sex adventures, Lucy is practicing for an audition for the Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra. She meets up with Grant again where they hook up and have good sex. In the morning, however, Grant is put off when he sees the amount of sexual paraphernalia in her room, along with pregnancy pants that Lucy bought purely for comfort. He ends up leaving, which Lucy sees. She is embarrassed and throws away all the sex stuff.
Lucy continues practicing until the day of her audition arrives. She plays as best as she can but ultimately doesn’t feel it was her best. She later finds that Jeff is getting married and that he wants the quartet to perform at the wedding. Lucy only wants to do it because the bride’s family is wealthy.
Lucy and Paul take a trip to Vegas to visit a brothel. When Paul ends up leaving, Lucy is put on the spot since she is told that they don’t service single women, so she pretends to be applying for a job there. She leaves embarrassed again, but uncertain if it’s because she applied to be a sex worker or because she didn’t get the job. She and Paul later go to a bar where he meets friends of his. Lucy’s name is signed up for a talent show, and she reluctantly plays the violin. Grant finds her there after talking to Paul and he apologizes to Lucy for running out on her. They reconcile and go back to hook up again, but Grant explains this time that he freaked out because he thought Lucy was pregnant since he saw the pregnancy pants. They have a laugh about it and sleep together.
Lucy wakes up to a message that she didn’t get her spot with the Philharmonic, but she doesn’t care because she’s happy with Grant. They later go to a porn convention and meet porn star Honey Parker (Leah McKendrick). Fast forward to Jeff’s wedding, where Lucy hired Honey to show up, since she knows Jeff is a fan. He freaks out and worries that his new wife will see her, and he runs away. Honey then goes to dance with Paul. Lucy then goes back to Grant so she can finally use “hot throbbing cock” in a sentence.
Lucy Neal is a violinist whose boyfriend dumps her because she won't fulfill his sexual desires since he claims she is too inhibited. After talking to her friends, Lucy decides to make a sex list of goals to prove she is not afraid to be intimate.
In between trips to a sex store, sex toy party, sex seminar, strip club, etc, Lucy meets and falls in love with Grant. He likes her too but is put off when he sees a bunch of sexual paraphernalia in her room.
After a trip to Vegas, Grant apologizes to Lucy. They reconcile and get together, and Lucy gets back at her ex by hiring a porn star to crash his wedding.
