JACKASS: Best and Last
*CUT TO THE CHASE*NOTE: This spoiler was submitted by Jeremy
The film starts with never-before-seen footage from 1998, described as “the birth of Jackass”. A young Johnny Knoxville and his buddies are preparing for a stunt where Knoxville wears a Kevlar vest with Hustler magazines underneath as he shoots himself in the chest. After playing a bit of Russian roulette, Knoxville fires on himself, and he and his buddies run while laughing.
The main cast – Knoxville, Steve-O, Wee Man, Chris Pontius, Preston Lacy, Poopies, Danger Ehren, Rachel Wolfson, Zach Holmes, Jasper, and Dave England – emerge for their intro, set to “Holding Out For a Hero” but shot like the “Virtual Insanity” video. They get smacked around and beaten up as usual, ending with Wee Man whacking Knoxville in the balls. For the very last time: “Hi, I’m Johnny Knoxville, and welcome to Jackass!”
The film jumps between classic “Jackass” stunts, as well as new ones created for this film. Knoxville walks with Pontius and Steve-O as he says that this will be the final “Jackass” film, something that Knoxville admits makes him emotional, but Pontius says he is not in touch with his emotions.
THE BEST:
Golf Course Airhorn – From the first “Jackass” film, Knoxville and the guys are blowing airhorns to distract golfers who are teeing off. This makes some of the players throw their clubs or swing balls in the guys’ direction.
Escaped Convict – From the pilot of the series, Knoxville is dressed in an LA County jumpsuit. Officers show up to arrest him, thinking he is an actual escaped inmate, until the guys have to tell them it’s for a show.
Abduction – From the original show, the guys team up with Brad Pitt to stage a fake kidnapping, calling 911 ahead to tell them to ignore calls of Brad Pitt being kidnapped. They have Pitt go to a taco stand where they pull him into a van in front of several horrified individuals, who indeed start calling the police.
Butt X-Ray – First “Jackass” film bit where Ryan Dunn had a toy car inserted into his rectum and went to the doctor to get an x-ray, causing them to be bewildered by the sight.
Silence of the Lambs – From “Jackass Forever”, this is the stunt where some of the guys were made to think they were stuck in a room with a cobra but were just being prodded in the dark. Extra unseen footage shows Bam Margera being terrified and demanding to be let out since the guys didn’t know how much he hates snakes.
High Five – A classic stunt where the guys set up a giant hand in their office and used it on Bam, smacking him to the ground and covering him in flour.
Big Red Rocket – From “Jackass Number Two”, Knoxville is strapped to a giant rocket over a lake. The first attempt fails because the rocket falls apart before launch. On the second attempt, Knoxville gets some serious air before hitting the water.
Poo Cocktail Supreme – From “Jackass 3D”, Steve-O is in a portapotty that gets launched into the air, covering him in feces.
Bad Grandpa – From the “Bad Grandpa” film, Knoxville, as Irving Zissman, goes to a male strip club and joins the dancers, where his long saggy balls hang out of his underpants.
The Magic Trick – From “Jackass Forever”, this is the bull stunt where Knoxville was flung into the air twice by a bull and suffered a concussion and broken ribs.
THE LAST:
Robot Rectal Exam – The first major new stunt brings in comedian Adam Ray to provide the voice for a robot named Larry. The gang uses Larry to give Steve-O a rectal exam. They put a condom on Larry’s finger and stick it in chunky peanut butter before making Larry put his claw in Steve-O’s ass.
Electroshock – Poopies has electrodes attached to his arm, and Knoxville’s movements depend on if it shocks Poopies while he’s trying to do something. Steve-O does the same while trying to tattoo a smiley face on Zach’s man-boob.
Extreme Makeover: Poopies Edition – The guys bring in a cosmetic surgeon to inject filler into Poopies’ lips, which he has for the entirety of the film.
Shock Collar – Poopies has a shock collar attached to his penis, which Rachel activates as he tries to walk across a balance beam.
The Marionettes – Ehren, Poopies, and Steve-O are made to look like puppets and do a play while getting pelted with junk or getting tased.
Pole Vault – Pontius gets naked and swings his dick around before jumping over a beam like an Olympian.
Ping Pong Trick – Steve-O gets Tory Belleci from “Mythbusters” so he can demonstrate a magic trick. Steve-O swallows a ping pong ball and makes it seem like he’s gonna pop it out of his butt in seconds. He then admits that he put a different ping pong ball in his ass, but now it’s stuck. After some pushing, Steve-O is able to launch it out, but not far enough to hit its intended target.
Hot Potato – Special guest Paul Walter Hauser joins the gang as Zach is lowered by a crane. Each time the guys get an answer wrong, Zach is lowered and his ass gets closer to their faces. Ehren is the unlucky one who gets a face full of cheeks before slipping out of the chair.
Human Pretzel – Steve-O, Dave, Ehren, and Poopies all drink laxatives while Rachel calls out commands for a game of Twister. The guys are naked and in clear bodysuits. Steve-O is the first to shit himself. The game ends when the floor is covered in diarrhea and the guys start puking.
Escape Room From Hell – Wee Man, Dave, Ehren, and Dark Shark go through an escape room that includes doing things like sticking their fingers in Zach’s ass to retrieve a coin, Dave laying under a mechanism that causes a boot to whack him in the groin, and sitting in an electric chair.
Before the final stunt of the film, Steve-O mentions that this isn’t the first time that they said they would be done with “Jackass”, but Knoxville confirms that this felt like the right place to end on, and he starts to get emotional.
The last stunt sees the guys recreating the opening of the first film, riding in a giant shopping cart while stuff explodes around them, set to “My Way”. The cart then crashes through a giant “THE END” sign with puppets in place of the gang as they crash and blow up off a hill, ensuring the “Jackass” crew does indeed go out with a bang.
The credits include the usual outtakes, some more classic clips, as well as footage of the guys saying their farewells (and Poopies even starts crying). After the credits are done, we see footage of Knoxville in his hotel after the gunshot stunt. Despite what his friends say, Knoxville insists it turned out the way he wanted it to.
The "Jackass" gang films their final movie, compiling some of their classic stunts with new ones to go out on a high note.
Classic stunts include the "High Five", "Big Red Rocket", staging a fake kidnapping of Brad Pitt, "Butt X-Ray", and "Poo Cocktail Supreme". New stunts include Steve-O getting a rectal exam from a robot, a gross game of Twister involving laxatives, and an escape room from Hell. Behind-the-scenes clips also show some of the guys getting emotional about bringing their franchise to an end. Unseen footage also shows the very first stunt that Johnny Knoxville pulled off (shooting himself in the chest while wearing a Kevlar vest with Hustler magazines underneath) that led to the creation of "Jackass".
The guys end the film by redoing the giant shopping cart stunt, sending it crashing and exploding off a cliff with dummies in place of the crew.
