SUPERGIRL (2026)

*CUT TO THE CHASE*

NOTE: This spoiler was submitted by Jeremy

The film opens with a montage of Kara Zor-El/Supergirl (Milly Alcock) and Krypto hanging out together. She goes off to planets with red suns to get drunk since her Kryptonian powers are weakened there. She frequently gets checked in on by Clark/Superman (David Corenswet)

On a nearby planet, a band of space pirates called Brigands arrive at the home of the Knoll family. Patriarch Elias (Ferdinand Kingsley) is known for his craft in weaponry, and the Brigand leader, Krem of the Yellow Hills (Matthias Schoenaerts), wants to take his collection of weapons for themselves. Elias hands over the key to his stash, but Krem demands that his wife Delilah (Emily Piggford) show the way. Their son Emond (Bruce Lennox) tries to intervene, but Krem throws a knife into the boy’s back. Krem then kills Elias and Delilah, in front of youngest child Ruthye Marye (Eve Ridley). After the Brigands leave, Ruthye buries her family and takes her father’s sword, seeking revenge against Krem.

Kara is at an alien bar with Krypto, when Ruthye comes in and seeks out someone to help in her revenge scheme, promising her father’s sword in exchange for helping kill Krem. Another alien steals the sword from Ruthye, and Kara goes to try and talk it out with the creature. She quickly resorts to kicking the alien’s butt and retrieving the sword for Ruthye.

Ruthye goes looking for Kara to try and help her, but Kara is not interested. Krem and his goon Drom Baxton (Diarmaid Murtaugh) go rummaging through Kara’s ship. Krypto sees the villains and runs after them, but Krem shoots Krypto with a poison dart before getting away. Kara rushes to her dog’s side. She takes Krypto to a healer, with Ruthye translating for Kara. She is told she has three days before the poison kills Krypto, so she takes it upon herself to go after Krem.

Kara boards a plane-like vessel with other aliens on the way to track down Krem. Ruthye has stowed away to join, despite Kara not wanting her to get involved. The plane is boarded by other space pirates, Sklarian raiders, that glitch their way through the place, and they steal Kara’s watch with Krypto’s picture, plus Ruthye’s sword. Kara briefly fights them but gets locked away before getting ejected into space. She drifts away unconsciously until the sun rises and recharges her powers. Kara flies towards the pirate ship and uses her laser beams to destroy the ship and capture the raiders.

Kara interrogates the Sklarians and learns that Krem is on the planet Bilquis, with the other Brigands looking to kidnap girls and young women to preserve their entirely male race.

On Bilquis, Kara and Ruthye go through a bar full of sleazy aliens (that Kara beats up and scares off) before meeting a couple, Mareck and Bomar Vran (Thalissa Teixeira and Kadiff Kirwan), who provide them shelter. When asking about Brigands, a Czarnian bounty hunter named Lobo (Jason Momoa) emerges, as he has personal beef with Drom. Ruthye thinks Lobo can help them find and kill Krem, but he is not interested in working with them.

While resting, Kara tells Ruthye the story about how she came to Earth. Her father Zor-El (David Krumholtz) tried to prevent the destruction of Krypton’s core, but ultimately failed. He managed to get Argo City to rise above the planet from its destruction, while Jor-El has already sent Kal-El to Earth. Kara was later born and grew up in Argo City with her father and mother Alura (Emily Beecham). However, Kryptonite was discovered after Argo City rose up, which caused many Kryptonians, including Alura, to become gravely ill. After Alura’s passing, Zor-El sent Kara to Earth.

Kara is given a drink by Mareck and Bomar, which is quickly revealed to be a poison that they reluctantly slipped her. They made a deal with Krem to deliver Kara and Ruthye in exchange for the return of their daughter Sarna (Asha Soetan). Krem arrives, and Kara tries to puke the poison out of herself.

The Brigands touch down and start going after the other women in the area. Supergirl and Lobo engage them in battle, with Lobo specifically going after Drom. Sarna escapes Brigand captivity, and her parents go after her, as does Krem. Ruthye tries to attack Krem, but Kara stops her for fear that she will get killed. Krem ends up killing Bomar, Mareck, and Sarna before escaping. Ruthye blames Kara for their deaths, but Kara believes that Ruthye killing Krem will turn her into a hardened murderer.

Out of guilt, Kara goes and interrogates other aliens into giving up Krem’s whereabouts. She ends up on a planet with a green sun, which severely weakens her. Kara is dragged away by an unseen figure. Another flashback shows when Superman first found Kara after she came to Earth, but they could not understand each other because she still only spoke Kryptonian, and Clark never learned how.

Ruthye turns out to be Kara’s savior. Kara resigns to her failure to help others and save Krypto. While Ruthye keeps Kara hidden in a cave, she ends up captured by the Brigands. She ends up in a cage next to Lobo, who was also captured during the raid. Krem tells Ruthye to give up Kara’s location and he will spare her, but she just spits in his face. Ruthye later tricks a guard into opening her cell, and she chokes him out before taking his keys to free herself and Lobo.

Kara is eventually revived when the planet rotates towards a yellow sun. She flies towards Krem’s ship, where Ruthye is trying to free the other captured brides. Krem catches her, but Kara arrives and proceeds to wreck the Brigands. Krem hits her with a Kryptonite arrow, briefly weakening her, until Lobo arrives to join in the fight. They cause the Brigand ship to crash to the ground. Kara proceeds to free the brides and then kill the remaining Brigands. Ruthye has Krem on the ground and has her sword at his throat, but Kara stops her from killing him so that she does not have to carry the weight of that deed for the rest of her life. Kara instead takes the sword and stabs Krem through the chest and throat, killing him. She then recovers the antidote for Krypto.

Kara returns to Krypto, who is instantly healed and goes to pounce on his owner. Ruthye says she is going to stay with her aunt now, but Kara lets her stick around so that they can celebrate Kara’s birthday.

Kara goes to find Superman in Metropolis. She decides that she is ready to call Earth her permanent home. Clark then runs to stop Krypto from eating chocolate.

Kara Zor-El/Supergirl was raised in Argo City after it separated from Krypton in the middle of its destruction. When Kryptonite emerged as a result, many Kryptonians, including Kara's mother Alura, got sick and died from the radiation. Her father Zor-El sent Kara to Earth after her cousin Kal-El/Superman had already been there for years. Her only company is Krypto.

A villain called Krem of the Yellow Hills leads a team of pirates called the Brigands, and they go around kidnapping girls and women to preserve their all-male race. Krem kills the Knoll family after trying to get patriarch Elias's weapons. Daughter Ruthye survives the attack and swears revenge on Krem. She teams up with an unwitting Kara, who only agrees after Krem poisons Krypto, and she has three days to save him.

The duo meet Lobo, a Czarnian bounty hunter who is after Krem's second-in-command Drom Baxton. A couple, Bomar and Mareck, trick Kara into trusting them so that they can give her and Ruthye to Krem in exchange for the return of their daughter Sarna. Kara and Lobo battle the Brigands, but she stops Ruthye from killing Krem, leading to the deaths of Bomar, Mareck, and Sarna. Out of guilt, Kara pursues Krem and ends up on a planet with a green sun, which weakens her. Ruthye rescues her but gets captured by Krem.

Kara is revived after the yellow sun hits her, and she goes to Krem's ship to save Ruthye and other captured brides. Lobo, who was also captured, joins in the fight against the Brigands. Kara stops Ruthye from killing Krem again so that she will not become a killer, and Kara does the deed herself.

Kara gets the antidote to Krypto and parts ways with Ruthye. She goes to visit Superman and tells him that she is ready to call Earth her home.
